MUSLIM
The Bible says, “For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?” (2 Samuel 22:32). And Deuteronomy 32:31 says, “For their rock is not as our Rock.” The Muslim religion, or Islam, was founded by Mohammed 600 years after Jesus Christ’s resurrection, and has a number of differences with Christianity. Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet as Mohammed was a prophet. They believe Jesus was the “Masih” (Messiah), born of a Jewish maiden named Mary through a miraculous virgin birth and that He will return someday,* but they do not believe Jesus Christ was divine, and they do not believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Islam believes Christ was created, but Christianity teaches Christ was the Creator, (see JESUS). Muslims do not believe Christ died on the cross, nor do they believe Christ resurrected (they believe He only ascended to heaven). The vast majority of Muslims believe hell is a place of purification and that even Muslims go there for a while (somewhat similar to the false belief of purgatory; see PURGATORY), but they believe that eventually even those in hell will be saved and go to paradise. The only way to be sure of missing hell is through “jihad,” and they go into paradise, where they believe virgins are waiting. But the Bible teaches that hell is “everlasting punishment,” and anyone who places his faith in Jesus Christ can go directly to heaven when he dies. Muslims can beat their wives (Qur’an 4:34 and 38:44), whereas Christianity teaches, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it” (Ephesians 5:25; see JESUS).

The Qur’an contains over a hundred verses that calls for war with nonbelievers. “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” Qur’an (8:12). Obviously, the majority of Muslims do not practice this, but if their religious book teaches killing “infidels,” then the radicals of that religion will be encouraged to do that.
Nowhere in the New Testament does it teach killing those who disagree with us. The one time the subject came up, Christ rebuke it. “And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village” (Luke 9:51–56) Though the Bible teaches there is “a time of war” (see WAR), Jesus Christ and His apostles never killed anyone.
